Western blot. Left Lane -- Cultured COS cells were transfected with a plasmid containing the SAP1a cDNA fused with an HA epitope tag at its C-terminus. Right Lane -- COS transfected with an empty plasmid vector. 25 ug of protein loaded in each lane.

Store at 4°C in the dark. Under these conditions, the antibodies should have a shelf life of at least 12 months (provided they remain sterile). For longer storage periods, dilute the antibodies with sterile glycerol and store at -20°C. Do not freeze these antibodies unless you want to store them for longer periods of time.
Chickens were immunized with a synthetic peptide containing the influenza hemagglutinin (HA) epitope (i.e., YPYDVPDYA) conjugated to keyhole limpet hemocyanin. The first injection included complete Freund’s adjuvant; subsequent injections included incomplete Freund’s adjuvant. Eggs were collected after the fourth injection, and antibodies were purified from the yolks using a proprietary method that yields a purity of >90%. Antibodies were affinity-purified over a peptide column and then dialyzed against phosphate-buffered isotonic saline. Sodium azide was added and the antibodies were filter-sterilized (0.2 µm).
Antibodies were analyzed using ELISA and western blots using an N-terminal HA-tagged protein. Secondary antibodies used in these quality control assays were alkaline phosphatase- (1:1000 dilution) and HRP-labeled (1:3000 dilution) goat anti-chicken IgY antibodies (Aves Labs), respectively.
These antibodies are to be used as research laboratory reagents and are not for use as diagnostic or therapeutic reagents in humans.
