The antigen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acid residues from the C-terminal region of rabphilin 3A.

The antibody is  prepared from pooled rabbit serum by affinity purification on a column to which the C-terminal peptide immunogen was coupled.

Biological Significance: ExpandCollapse

Rabphilin-3A is a peripheral membrane protein that binds Ca2+ and phospholipids and is attached to synaptic vesicle membranes (Geppert et al., 1994;Li et al., 1994). The expression of rabphilin 3A is reduced in an animal model of Huntington’s disease (Smith et al., 2005). Rabphilin can be phosphorylated at Ser234 by both CAM kinase II and PKA and this phosphorylation has been suggested to regulate neuronal activity during development in a synapse-specific manner (Fykse et al., 1995;Foletti and Scheller, 2001).

100 µl in 10 mM HEPES (pH 7.5), 150 mM NaCl, 100 µg BSA per ml and 50% glycerol. Adequate amount of material to conduct 10-mini Western Blots.

Storage at -20°C is recommended, as aliquots may be taken without freeze/thawing due to presence of 50% glycerol. Stable for at least 1 year at -20°C.
