Western Blot of 100 ng of Rattin peptide and 50 ug of 293 T cell lysates transfected with plasmids encoding GFP-Rattin showing specific immunolabeling of Rattin.
Bulk Order Anti-Rattin Antibody
Rattin, a novel rat gene, encodes a peptide homologous to Humanin, a secreted peptide that specifically protects against neuronal cell death induced by beta-amyloid peptide (Ab) or by mutations causing early-onset familial Alzheimer's disease. Rattin is the prototype of a novel class of peptides, phylogenetically related to Humanin, endowed with protective activity not only against Ab but also toward excitotoxic neuronal death. The rat gene, Rattin, encodes a peptide of 38 residues (15 residues longer than Humanin) showing 73% identity in the conserved region to Humanin.
Antigen Affinity Purified
Synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids of the Rattin peptide which are not in the conserved region to Humanin.
Recommended that the undiluted antibody be aliquoted into smaller working volumes (10-30 uL/vial depending on usage) upon arrival and stored long term at -20° C or -80° C, while keeping a working aliquot stored at 4° C for short term. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles. Stable for at least 1 year.
PBS + 0.02% NaN3
WB Brain: 1:500-1:1000
Reacts with residues of the Rattin peptide which are not in the conserved region to Humanin.
Western blots performed on each lot.
